Sore Throat Relief: Gargling with saltwater is an effective alternative to continually sucking on throat lozenges, and the temporary relief is felt immediately. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of salt in cup of warm water. Tilt your head back and swish the liquid around at the back of your throat to moisten the sore throat and bring temporary relief.
